Friends and Gardens....Part II

After Beth showed me her lovely garden we headed over to Ginny's house. Beth's MIL June was also to meet us there. When you pull up to Ginny's house you really have to make sure you put your car in park because the last thing your thinking of is turning off the car. Your eyes are drawn to all the eye candy in front of Ginny's house. She has the BEST yard in her neighborhood!! Ginny too has a green thumb and you almost have to take two strolls just to make sure you saw every blooming plant. Not only does she have an awesome butterfly garden but she also has an herb/veggie garden, shade garden, lots of fragrant plants, orchids...oh I could go on and on....take a look....oh and look at her blooming dwarf ylang ylang...

Ginny not only shared her plants she made us a lovely lunch with some nice cold lemonade. It was great fun getting together, June you are a very nice person and I am so glad I got to meet you. Beth...we live in the same town...we really should get together more often.

Friends, garden strolls, laughter and Sharing

I have been waiting for this day to come for a long time. Friday was getting together with friends and talking and sharing plants. I headed over to Beth's house to pick her up so that we could over to Palm Bay and meet our friend Ginny and Beth's MIL June. But first..Beth invited me to stroll through her lovely garden. Beth definitely has a green thumb because all her plants are healthy and thriving. She has cute vignettes of plants through out her yard and just look at the huge oak tree with the bench underneath. It's perfect for sitting and having a cold glass of iced tea. I saw little birds nesting in her honeysuckle bush, butterfly's, bees, dragonfly's and even a friendly squirrel came into our pathway. Beth, thank you for sharing your garden with me.

Fall is just around the corner and my garden is preparing for the new season, blossoms have faded, leaves have shed and some hibernating back under ground.
This little yellow flower is a hoya that has been neglected but thriving where it's at.
This lovely is growing inside my lanai by the pool area, it gets lots of traffic and I am surprised the flower hasn't fallen off due to being moved or splashed by the chlorine water.

It does have soft sweet smell like baby powder.

Have a great Thursday...

Day at the Beach

My dh and I had the afternoon to ourselves yesterday so we spent the afternoon walking along the beach at Cherry Downs in Cocoa Beach. The weather was beautiful, the water warm and hardly anyone there. We walked to the pier and came across some pretty amazing things.

The water was a pretty greenish/turquoise color. The waves were a lot bigger than normal. I think that is due to Hurrican Bill further east from us.

The tide was out, the water was warm and wonderful.
close up shot of an incoming wave.

The pier at Jetty Park.

This pretty black bird was posing for us.
I don't ever remember seeing this on the rocks. It looks like an anthill but if you look closer its a bunch of tiny little sea shells.

They are all along the pier.

a closer look of the barnacles?
Even a closer shot...see all the minute sea shells?

What a perfect day to spend with my loved one.
