My son drew a name out of the hat and The winner of My Spring Giveaway.....is......Rose from Bella Rosa.....Congratulations Rose...email me your addy and I will ship these out to you on Monday.
Hugs...Sylvia

Have you ever eaten boysenberries? I remember eating them when I was a child living in Texas...we used to call them "moras" in Spanish. And as I was washing the berries, my mind drifted back to my childhood, the carefree days when Texas weather was nothing to a child running around barefoot eating berries from the tree. I googled a very simple boysenberry recipe to make jam and boysenberry banana muffins. YES...I did spend most of my Saturday in the kitchen, canning and baking and singing to ABBA's Super Trouper song...love that CD The jam was easy to make but it took forever to jell up. AND it needs hours to set...so my boys are patiently waiting. As for the muffins...they turned out pretty good considering I am not a big banana muffin fan, made them for my hubby. The recipe looks simple enough but the dry ingredients need to be sifted, then you need to alternate by adding the dry ingredients in 3 additions and banana mixture in 2 additions to the egg mixture...yea...that's what I thought too....way too many steps!!! The muffins won't last by Monday but that's OK since I have more berries in the freezer.
...hahahah...OHHH...Don't forget about my giveaway ending at the end of the month. All you need to do is leave me a comment, become a follower and you will be in the drawing....good luck.
She finally did it...she finally took that giant leap and joined blogland. My friend Dina has become one of us...someone that would rather blog than do housework...hahahaha...Her retro looking blog is called The Happy Dabbler. She is still fine tuning it but friends you will not be dissapointed. She is a lady of many talents and I can't wait for her to show you more. Hop on over and giver her a BIG WELCOME.

My family now eats at the kitchen counter...sitting on stools because I have taken over the dining room table! Does it make sense to you to put every little trinket away then having to bring it all out again that very same night? No way....because I find myself creating in the middle of the night when all is quiet and peaceful...sure the light sucks but I have come up with some cute creations. My friend Dina and I are into the steam punk jewelry...we've been having lots of fun creating...Guess what my youngest son's teacher is getting for teacher appreciation and birthday...yep...altered art and steam punk jewelry. Enjoy my messy pictures...
I'm a little late in posting my Spring giveaway but better late than never..right? My Spring giveaway is a Victoria Magazine, a handmade fairy door with a cute little glass door knob
and a teeny tiny wheel barrel with hoe and pitch fork that the fairies no longer needed. If you are like me and have wanted a fairy door for so long but couldn't seem to pay that much $$...find an old piece of wood, mine was already painted yellow ( the last picture shows the true color), cut a template and trace it onto the wood. DH used a jig saw to cut it out. Then get yourself some small vintage glass door knobs and screw them in place(I did that)..lol If you are interested in participating in the giveaway just post my first picture on your blog and pass the word and become a follower.
Happy Silver Sunday...My theme today is charms...bracelets...coins...and even a silver bullet bobbin. I get a kick out of the shoe charms...not old..it's a Kenneth Cole bracelet but couldn't pass it up.... All have been found at flea markets or TS....the charm bracelet I made a couple of weeks ago and is from an older post but what the heck...it's silver and it's one of my favs! Now let's all visit Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal for more Silver Sunday.
As we were messing with the snake this afternoon...I noticed a little yellow door by the gate...hmmmmm....who put that there? Not me. As I stepped closer I noticed ferns...stones, amethyst....pebbles...mushrooms...lavendar...violets...and yes...hahaha...a little glass doorknob on the yellow door.
I think the fairies were busy this afternoon....they sure did a beautiful job too.
I'm sorry Mr. Snake for using plastic netting in my garden....I'm sorry for ONLY thinking of my vines twining themselves against the fence and not thinking that you or any other little creatures might get stuck between the holes of that strong, black, plastic netting. Thanks to my knight and shining armors they came to your rescue and cut away the netting so that you can roam the grounds on the OTHER side the canal.
