Magic Chimes

I got these coconut disks from my
friend awhile ago...I wasn't sure what
to do with them...

So today, I drilled holes in them...

and wired them with fishing line.
My magic chimes now hang outside
in the garden.

I love garden junk...yard art...
Do you have any garden junk?

Hugs...Sylvia

Estate Sale finds

What a crazy morning today was...rushing to drop kids off at school...noticing an Estate Sale along the way
and thinking...planning...convincing hubby (yes he was with me today) to stop afterwards. He said he had me all figured out when he saw the estate sale sign...hahaha.

My mouth dropped open when I saw the dress form standing there, I had been looking for
one for awhile and almost jumped for joy when the lady said
$10.00 and that it used to be her grandmothers.

Ohhh the wonderful stories it could tell....

another find was this sewing kit,
I will fill it with all kinds of trinkets.

Look how pretty these beaded gloves are...
they too had to come home with me.

Speaking of great finds...

The garden is coming alive with new growth and
the roses have been blooming non stop...

my Amaryllis in all its glory...

Another Amaryllis...

This rose smells mmmm soo good, it has a
spicy fragrance.

It has been so windy lately, I love
how the petals made a path...

I wonder where they are going?

It's Spring Break this coming week,
we all deserve a break especially
the kids that have been working hard getting ready for
FCAT testing next month.
We plan to do absolutely
NOTHING...
and we are going to enjoy it too...

Have a great weekend...

Easter carrots

I drooled over Pier One's Easter decorations, sighing
that I really didn't want to spend that much $$ so I
came home and started crafting...

Take an empty cereal box and open it up so that it lays flat...

Cut out the panels and shape into a carrot...

Take some yarn, I didn't have orange so I used what I had...use your hot
glue gun and start glueing the yarn loosely around and around and around...

until it's all covered...

Then take your green tulle and glue to the inside
top of the carrot.

They could be a bit wider on top but still

they turned out pretty darn cute.

Stay tuned for my Easter nests...I had fun making those...

Have a great week,
Sylvia

Battery Box

When I came across this cool box I immediately thought that
it would look great in one of my son's room's...will see if they
like it...lol

I've been going through some things that I need to
get rid off and this is one of them...a Royal Doulton
plate...it's listed on ebay.

Another beauty listed on ebay...

I love this color but have outgrown this
collection...I hope someone in ebay
land will enjoy it as much as I did.

It's Nifty Thrifty Tuesday...I have linked up with Linda at
Coastal Charm...come see.

Have a great week..

smells like bananas...soooo goood!

Flower Chandiis

I took apart a chandelier several months ago and
these are some of the pieces that I saved.

I knew I wanted to make yard art...so today
I got my materials together and went at it.

I painted the flower heads with the
extra paint we had...
Found some copper tubing in my hubbys tool area, cut sections
with a hack saw and dug around in the tool box
and found some appliance leveling screws.

I inserted the screws into the flower head and copper tubing...
....no gluing or soldering...

I really like how they turned out...

My flower chandiis...

Coreopsis in the butterfly garden...

God's beauty...

Have a wonderful weekend...

Plant Sale

What a gorgeous day in Florida....

I got up way too early on a Saturday!....to
go to the
Botanical Fest Plant and Garden Show
in Melbourne.
No, it's not far from home but I did want to get there
early to buy those special plants.

I replaced my Dombeya wallichii...

There was color everywhere...a sure sign of
Spring to come

When I got home my hubby was making pulled pork in the
smoker outside..the neighborhood smelled
delish...BUT as I entered the house...

This was baking in the oven...YES...he
made home made
French Rolls.
My hubby is the greatest....not only is he
a super duper great guy....he loves to cook and
experiment with recipes...

Ahhhh...Life is Good...

Platter, tree and seedlings

Anchor Hocking Turkey Platter...this will look great at the
Thanksgiving table.

I found this metal tree last week...it sits out
in the patio by the pool and it sure looks pretty
at night when the candles are lit.

I haven't been thrifting much because I
have been getting my garden ready. I've
been going CRAZY sowing seeds...

look how big my tomatoes are getting. I hope I get
a huge crop, I'd sure like to do some canning this summer.

My long beans are pretty close to re-potting, maybe
this weekend? The sunflowers(left back tray) are keeping up
with those beans.

The butterflies are going to flap their wings in glee of all
the dill and fennel in the butterfly garden...

I am linking up to Linda's Nifty Thrifty Tuesday over at Coastal Charm...wanna
tag along?

Have a super duper day,
Sylvia
