These are my husbands grandmothers rosary beads. I inherited them when she sadly passed away. She was a very sweet women with a big heart.

Were you in band when you were in grade school? I learned to play the clarinet in 5th grade and played it all the way to my senior year. I loved the concerts, parades and football games because I got to show off my music skills. I used to love to clean my clarinet and loved the smell of a new reed. Is that weird or what? Sooooo...here is my clarinet from many years ago.

Thrifty Thursday

Do you know what time it is? It's tool time...ooops...I mean Thrifty Thursday, hosted by Leigh. Mozy on over to her site and check out all the other goodies posted for today's special event.

This will be my 3rd vintage dress that I own so I guess that officially makes it a collection right? As soon as I saw this pretty thing I fell in love with the ruffly sleeves and the huge pin attached to the ribboned waist. Unfortunately it does have a stain at the bottom front so I will have to see if I can wash it out. Cost $3.00

Don't you love this vintage style phone? It's from Pottery Barn..yiiihaaaaa!!! I haven't checked to see if it works but it really doesn't matter if it doesn't. The Victorian ladies playing cards are my favorite but its too bad that the price was written on the front with black sharpie. I am thinking of adding a small rhinestone there and giving as a gift. Cost...75 cents.

The darling 4 little compote dishes are too cute! They all have bees on the outside and the label on the bottom states "made in France". Perfect for pudding or placing a cupcake in it. Cost..$1.00

12 year old Top 10 Christmas List

My 12 year old's Top Ten Christmas List was funny too, he seems to think that he is a grown up now and can drive a car so instead of asking for a Mustang he decided for a riding lawnmower...haha

Vintage Black Friday

This is my husbands Anri chess set by E.S. Lowe dated 1954. He and my sons play whenever they get a chance.


This here is very precious to me....I always admired this when I was a little girl, I thought it was the cutest thing...then one day, I grew up and my Mom decided to pass this on to me. It now stands on my dresser too. He does have a little chip on his year but still precious.

This Singer sewing machine and table came from my in-laws, it travelled from Pa to Ca then to Fl. Lots of good miles in it.

Wonderful surprises

After a couple of hectic days, I finally got a chance to walk out in the garden and see what was going on....I was very excited to see my hoya linearis getting ready to bloom...OR this could be its blossom...I don't know...I've never seen it in bloom.This pretty yellow flower was a cutting I got from my friend...it's now ready to be transplanted to its proper spot....

Never in my previous years have I had problems growing tomatoes until we moved to Florida. Could it be that I don't have much time for my veggies? Maybe it's too hot for them in our hot humid weather or maybe they just don't like me! So this year I planted 2 tomato plants in pots right next to my back door. It did work, I did get little yellow tomatoes, 3 little tomatoes...yes ONLY 3..hahaha. I am going to savor my harvest and plan a little better come spring.

About a month ago I was trimming some of my plants and happened to notice a passion fruit vine growing along my fence. Where did it come from? I don't remember planting a vine there. Today as I was walking around I noticed passion fruit from that mysterious vine...I was so excited! I cant wait to make more passion fruit pie...perfect for the holidays.
