Redwork and lampwork beads

Happy Monday!!!...it's been a lazy and rainy day. I'm still recovering from the bug I got during the Thanksgiving holiday but it didn't stop me from pulling out my redwork 1903 coverlet that I use every year for Christmas.

I place it on top of my china buffet then decorate the buffet with colorful and pretty

Christmas decorations. Living with 3 males, I feel the need to do fru fru

whenever I can. Redwork was first introduced back in the 1800's using  a colorfast thread made in Turkey. Go here for more information...

Ohhh...I hear the sound of the mailman at my front door...look what I got in the mail today!!!

It's my black Friday etsy orders from Robin Gaudy...
12 lampwork beads called Holly and Canes, they will make a super cute charm bracelet for Christmas.

and I also ordered these super duper cute rose lampwork bead/ pendants for earrings.
I can't wait to start crafting...

It's still raining...Thank God for this much needed rain...I am off to sit out in the porch and enjoy the sound of the rain.

I am linking up with Linda at Nifty Thrifty Tuesday..let's go visit...

Have a great week,
Sylvia

I love the sound of rain too! It's so soothing, I alway think.

Well, as long as I'm dry!! Being stuck in the rain is not so soothing!!

I love your Etsy finds! They're beautiful!

Hi, I'm visiting from Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays. What a treasure that coverlet is. To live in a time when colorfast thread would be a technological marvel. Hard to imagine. And those beads are absolutely gorgeous.

Oh, look at how sweet those redwork designs are! I'm always taken by the way moons are portrayed during that time period. Very pretty beads, too!

You caught my attention with the redwork ... I find that very few people appreciate it right now (I love it!!) Owning a rose nursery like I do, you KNOW the rose beads are something that I MUST have. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing them.
