Sunday Salad

Hello friends....yes I am still here....I've been trying to get my craft room in order but seem to get sidetracked
by other things. I spent most of yesterday and today clipping and organizing my coupons. Today's savings were outstanding. I saved $214.60 and spent out of pocket $44.15.  Love couponing!!

The Publix Family Style magazine has this yummy
Chickpea Salad which I made today for lunch.
It it soooo good...it's light and very healthy. Lots of
fiber and protein!!

Chickpea Salad

2   15 oz. cans of no-salt added garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained. (I peeled the skin off)
6 Roma tomatoes, sliced
4 ounces crumbled feta cheese
1/4 cup lightly packed sliced basil or mint leaves (I used basil)
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp ground black pepper

In a large bowl combine beans, tomatoes, feta cheese and basil. In a screw up jar combine vinegar, oil, sugar and ground black pepper, shake to combine. Pour over salad mixture.
15 minutes to make.

Enjoy...

Charlottes & Charms

I'm so excited to have received my order from
Corey. She sells Brocante wares through Tongue in Cheek
Brocante.

Another exciting find from the T.S. are these two 14K & 18K gold charms.
They will definitely end up on my bracelet.

I am linking up to Linda's Coastal Charm Nifty Thrifty Tuesday...lots of goodies to see.

Have a great evening...

Buffet table

Re-arranging furniture can be fun when you know what you're doing. I have been
moving furniture back and forth for the last couple of weeks and with the help of a good
friend she has been giving me ideas and the thumbs up if it looks good in that spot.

Today, the buffet table and extremely heavy mirror got a new place.
It's closer to the kitchen but now my dilemma is..what do I place on top?
I do have LOTS of things to display but just now sure what???

You're wondering what I keep inside? Junk...small seasonal collectible junk that comes
out once in awhile. Originally the silverware and place mats were going to be inside
but they ended up in the pantry.

How do you display your buffet table?
What do you keep inside?
I would love to see how you display your buffet table...

Ohhh decorating fairy..where are you when I need you...

Hugs...

Movies, seashells and jewelry

Do you ever have one of those days when you have the whole day to yourself and all
you want to do are your favorite things? A "ME" day... That's what I am doing today...I felt the need to play at home! I have been taking things down, hanging things up, moving
furniture from one room to another...just plain re-decorating I guess....
My fireplace, which we never use...I layered three textures...a piece of lattice on the inside of the hearth. A
vintage white, chippy, wooden frame window at the entrance with an iron fireplace screen.
What do you think?

Yes...I even played with vintage jewelry and seashells...I
thought it would be a fun and romantic look for Valentines Day.

I gotta tell you...I did have a hard time cutting a rhinestone
necklace for this project..haha

Yesterday's finds at the thrift store...I am a sucker
for those old Victoria magazines and the lining
of the carry on case is in mint shape too!

A fellow thrifter was looking through these movie reels and I was surprised when
he passed them up!!!  Being the junk collector that I am...I swooped in and grabbed them all for $15.00!
Even my husband was excited to see them..hahaha..(doesn't happen often with my finds)

We'd like to place them against a wall in the t.v. room but we need to figure out how.
 Any suggestions?

My glass witch ball...they are so pretty!

I hope you have a "ME" day and get to do lots of
fun things at home.

It's been so long since I've joined Leigh over at Tales from Bloggeritaville. I am linking up
to her Thrifty Thursday get together...there is sooo much eye candy...I can't wait to go
and visit.

I dood it!

It's one of those days when you start the week tired...you just don't feel like doing anything... except
thrift shop. Not much out there....
There's this new thrift shop that opened up near my house and I found
these cute little blue vintage baby shoes along with the flow blue plate...at
thrift store prices too!

Have I mentioned how much I love A+ Thrift Shop?(Merritt Island, FL)...so much that I have been
volunteering there for 4 years. I always find some beautiful pieces...all of the above came from there.

The crocheted tablecloth looks like it was bleached in certain spots but that's OK...
a little tea stain should do the trick.

I dood it!!! hahaha...this little stool reminded me of my younger son when he was 3 years old...
couldn't pass it up.

I hope you all are having a great start of a good week.

I am linking up to Linda's Nifty Thrift Tuesday over at Coastal Charm...come looky...

Time to run

Today is the Day....I started walking/jogging again.

 It's been 3 years since
my last 5K...yep...that's a loooong time!

I walked/jogged for 2.5 miles for 40 minutes (embarrassed by the time) but
with time I know I will improve.

I did join Run 1,000+++
for motivation and support. Mel has lots of energy and I always want to run around the block every time I read her blog. Come join the club with me...let's do this together.

My goal is to finish 3.1 miles daily...all I need to do is stay MOTIVATED!!!!

YoYo quilt

HAPPY NEW YEAR.....

Did you have a good New Years Eve?
We went out to dinner than straight home since we don't
like to drive on this special night.
My dh and I kep dozing off during the Twilight Zone episodes and only
made it till 12:15 am....hahaha...pretty quiet and boring at my house...hahahaha

As I was digging through my linen closet, trying to find
something pretty to put out for Valentines day, I came across

this old vintage Yo-Yo quilt that I've had
stored away for years.

When we moved I could not part with it...kept thinking
I'd replace and re-sew some of the yoyo's...but...

It's never happened...so this year I placed
it on top of my curio cabinet to enjoy.

Some of the yoyo pieces are disintegrating when I move
it around too much.

Someone spent hours and hours making this beautiful
twin bedspread. Did she lovingly create this

for her little one? Are these yoyo pieces from
her little ones blouses and dresses?
Ohhhh...if it could only talk

and share those memories.

I apologize for so many pictures...I got a new D3100 DSLR camera and I am having so much fun
with it.

Hugs...Sylvia
