The day was cloudy and breezy with a slight chance of rain. Now wouldn't you call that a crafting day? My creative juices felt like playing with jewelry today. So I made some beaded book markers for my "book" friends that I see evey morning. Nothing fancy was used just some beads I had then of course you need the "cute" bag to put them in. So awhile back I came across some small red Santa stockings at a thrift store. I bought them even though I really didn't like the plain look...but wait... what I did was use an angel from the "Graphics Fairy" free clipart and printed myself a whole sheet...Yep..a whole sheet of sweet looking angles. I embelished with white glitter around the edges, sowed an antique button on the corner along with sewing the angel to the stocking. The stocking looks so much better!!! Dontcha think?  Now to clean up that mess I made...sigh....
MERRY CHRISTMAS....
Have you ever had one of those mornings when you are in bed half awake and half asleep? Your brain is already planning what you have to do for the day? I woke up at 5 a.m. this morning! That is not normal for me, I love to sleep in!!! But I knew in the back of my mind what I wanted to accomplish today so I was an early riser...It's been a quiet peaceful morning, I have cleaned my kitchen, started laundry and orgazined and put things away while humming with the Christmas music in the background. My sons study area (mid-term exams coming up) is clean and comfy. It feels good to have this done, it's been a busy week for me...I chaperoned my 7th graders NASA Blast field trip (yep, my son said it was ok for me go to..hahahaha), which I will post photos later. I baked a cake for him too, he shaped it in the form of a cell and decorated with candy. I think more candy went in his belly than on the cake...hahaha          We are so behind in decorating for Christmas this year, we are not even sure if my hubby will string lights outside since he is so busy with the bathroom re-do.  Well since my previous Christmas post was on vintage toys, I went ahead and stayed with the childrens theme and did the candy decorating theme. I dont have much vintage candy decorations so I used some gummy bears, lemon drops and jelly bellies...Don't forget that today is the last day to sign up for my GIVEAWAY...I will be drawing a name tomorrow afternoon and let you know who the lucky winner is. Thank you all for the nice comments and being a follower, it means a lot to me!!    BTW.... the first picture of the sun above the clouds was taken by my son on the way to school, we have the prettiest views on the way there.   Have a great weekend!!!

I decided to decorate a bit different for Christmas this year....I dug out some of my vintage toys that I have collected through out the years and decided to display them. I had lots of fun putting it all together, the boys cant seem to walk on by without playing with one of them..hahahah. As my final touch I decided to add a couple of vintage elfs that were just hanging around doing nothing. This worked out perfect for Vintage Christmas Monday. Now hop on your sleighs and visit  Joan at the pottingshed-anything goes here to see more vintage Christmas items. For those of you that haven't joined, this is lots of fun and gets you in the mood for decorating.  Lots of Christmas wishes to you...

Christmas Mussie Tussies

I want to give my son's teachers and friends mussie tussies for Christmas this year. I've never made any before and always drooled over how beautiful our fellow bloggers made theirs so when I came across some old sheet music that was headed for the dumpster I asked myself "why not?" I too can  create some. I pulled out vintage pieces of lace and buttons and bought some silver glitter glue. It did take me awhile for my creative juices to flow but eventually they did flow...hahahah. I didn't add any handles (YET)...maybe later? I am going to fill them with the teachers favorite things, I sure hope they like them. I know I would love to recieve something like this, wouldn't you??? I will add photos when they are completely filled.
Have a great weekend...

My Garden is singing with joy due to the thunderstorms and lots of rain we got last night. It's been a long dry season and the plants have been thirsty. I took a few pictures this afternoon and decided to Flaunt Your Flowes Fertilizer Friday with Tootsie tomorrow. It's been awhile since I've posted pictures of my poor neglected garden but here it goes. The first two pictues are of my Bilbergia in full bloom. I am in awe of the bright colors, who would ever think that green, purple and bright pink would look so good together!!!  The next picture is of a palm that I have coveted for the longest time!!! They were at the orange box store last month and my hubby decided to buy me two of them for my birthday, even though my b-day was back in Oct. They are called "bottle tree palms". The get very round and fat at the bottom and grow tall. I sure hope I dont end up killing them. DH planted one in the front and one in the back for me. The little purple flower plant  is a Thumbergia (I think), it's called Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. I fertilized the heck out of this plant this summer, it was either that or compost baby!!! It FINALLY bloomed and I detect a very slight fragrance. Soooo...she is staying on for while...next is Dombeya Seminole that bloomed earlier this summer for me...I couldn't pass up taking a picture of the dried flowers, they look so pretty and orangy. The garden is getting ready to go dormant for the winter, the squirrels are busy gathering up their little acorns for a little snack during those cold dreary winter Florida months...lol.  I have also included two beautiful hawks off in the distance of my house. I could hear them squawking and at first I thought it was a bald eagle but as I looked through my camera I realized they were hawks. They were probably looking for afternoon snacks. Have a great Friday...
