Blue Springs

Our family day was spent at Blue Springs swimming and tubing down the waterway. The weather was stinking hot...90+ degrees with high humidity so the 73 degree water was perfect to be in. No...we did NOT see any gators or manatees but we did see some pretty big fish since the water is crystal clear.  We then had a nice picnic by the campground. We were supposed to camp overnight but we all agreed that we wanted to sleep in our own beds with the a/c on.  Lesson learned...don't camp in Florida summer weather!!!

flowers and lace

As I was cleaning out a closet I came across these pieces of fru fru and being the procrastinator that I am I just had to play...I'll show you my foot but never my ankle, haha... I thought the pretty vintage lace( it's actually a bed skirt) would make excellent pantaloons or a frilly skirt. Don't ya think? Ohhh how I wish I could sew..So after playing make believe I ventured outside into the porch..(shouldn't I have been cleaning the closet???)...and noticed some of my orchids blooming. The first mini orchid I call Missy because that is who gave it to me and the second is Lady of the Night..Brassavola Nodosa...very fragrant!!! Of course if the girl uses the camera chances are she is going to blog about it.

I better go..it's almost time for hubby to get home and I SHOULD get something done around here. Hmmmm, I wonder if Dina is home?

Sea shells and pink broms

Happy 22nd Anniversary to us...Happy Fathers Day to all Dad's and Happy Summer to you all...it's about time I posted and got rid of that ugly snake in your blogs...I've got a new hobby that has kept me busy! I have joined the coupon world and it has kept me from my blog, I do so enjoy finding all those "good" and "free" deals but dang...those coupons pile up. I find myself filing ALL the time...I don't like to file...don't make me file...hahahaha. I had not crafted at all until yesterday! This unfinished lampshade will look pretty once it's completed and married to a lamp that is full of surprises. More too see when I am done.

Screaming and Running...

I woke up early this morning to finish weeding  another part of the garden and this sent me screaming and running back inside the house...this is a BIG one! This is the third snake sighting in one week...ohhh my poor heart.

Work & Play

After a morning of yard work we played in the pool to cool down...relaxed on the inflatable pool lounge and enjoyed a Margarita or two....

Surfing in the USA

Dina and I arrived at the estate sale and the first thing that caught my eye was this BEAUTIFUL blue Chevy sitting in the driveway. And leaning against it was a surfboard..how perfect is that!

I left the estate sale empty handed but did score some treasures at Salvation Army and the SPCA Thrift.

This is a really cool hand drawn and painted Leprechaun picture...perfect for my St. Patty's decor. $3.00

The vintage bottle has discolored to a purple hue which I love...I placed it in my garden window hoping to see more of the purple against the light. .99cents

This was a steal considering I bought one like this at Pottery Barn a couple of years ago and paid an arm and a leg for it! It's a large one so the bigger seashells will look great in it. $3.99

Still playing...

I am still playing around with Photoshop...I have learned how to blur the background. With all this playing around it's no wonder I don't get anything done around here!

Changes....

My dear husband actually had the patience to teach this blogger how to use photoshop today. I was am sooooo used to paint shop pro that it got a bit frustrating after awhile but he took deep breaths and I blinked several times to clear my eyes...hahahaha. It's the beginning of a rocky relationship between a blogger and a editing program.
