Old tattered vintage doilley
fold it in half
then roll it to a cigar shape
take the right end with your right hand and roll it in, making the bud/center of the flower....
twist the doily with your left hand and keep turning the flower center until
it looks like a rosette.
Glue the end and add a teeny tiny bit of glue here and there to keep it together.
embellish and add the pin to the back.
I played with all kinds of material, trying to find which rosettes were easier to make and the doillies seem easier for me. What do you think?

I have never heard of making rosettes this way, but they look good. I'll have to try it.

What a good use for old, torn doilies! Thank you for the idea - I'll try this with some of my trashy lace.
Oh that's a cute idea. Hate throwing those tattered doilies away so they just sit in a drawer. And the shabby roses are so "in style" now!
