Tapestry, paths and mosaics....

Check out my thrift store find this week, a vintage handmade tapestry jacket.....it's heavy, in perfect condition and I so love it! Unfortunately it's a size too small so I can't wear it but I sure can admire it....

The weather is so beautiful today that we cleaned the pool and back porch, getting it ready for spring.....while cleaning.....the side yard once again popped into my head....you see I've been wanting to make the side yard into my secret garden. As you can see by the pictures...it needs lots of tlc. The weeds need to be pulled, a/c covered and the palm needs trimming. The green bush is a Grand Duke jasmine, which I love, love, love, the perfume is out of this world so I have to make the side yard Grand looking....for my Grand Duke..hehehe.  The round and square  pavers against the house were found this summer through craigslist. My family was so helpful in helping me fill the truck with this heavy stones.  Sooooo as I stood there, rolling all sorts of ideas through my head,  I decided to start working on my mosaic path. Here are two that I worked on this afternoon. It's going to be a long project and I'd like to finish it before the heat and humidity sets in.

I like to use old vintage dishes for my mosaic work so keep your fingers crossed that I don't run out of dishes...hahaha...

Have a great weekend....

Hugs...Sylvia

These are beautiful. It must be nice to work in the yard and not have snow.

Looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you! Love that jacket. Of course, the ever irreverent me would be cutting it up and making pillows or purses out of that cute fabric.
