Today is my first Vintage Christmas Monday post and to tell you the truth, I dont know if what I am posting is considered Christmas. I use it every Christmas year to decorate the outside of my house. (It's not often you see a sled as a decoration in tropical Florida.) So please forgive if it's not the correct decoration...besides all my Christmas items are still up in the attic. I am hoping my hubby will bring all that down this weekend.
Okay...I am off to Joan's Anything Goes Here blog to check out all the other Vintage Christmas decorations....wanna come along with me?

PASS ON THE LOVE...

Beings that today is the last Vintage Black Friday, Jill at Gypsy Brocante is hosting a little game called "Pass on the Love". It's really quite fun AND very simple. All YOU have to do is go to her site, mention me, MY TRINKETS  on your comments and both of us will enter into a $25.00  gift drawing that can be used at Jill's etsy shops. The deadline is Sunday, November 29th...so hurry ...PASS ON THE LOVE..and leave both of our names on your comments.
I sure had fun doing Vintage Black Friday, digging around in my cabinets coming up with  goodies that I hadn't seen in years and also realizing how bad of a hoarder I am!!!!  Do I not throw anything away???? lol For example...my son came in to our room the other day with Charlie in his arms. It seems my son has been digging around in the closets and drawers too (possibly looking for Christmas presents? hahaha). He came across my hubby's old Charlie McCarthy ventriloquist doll. My 9 year old proceeded to entertain us, he was pretty good if you were standing in front of him but if you were standing behind him you could see the side of those little lips moving. Jeff Dunham he is not..hahaha   We had some laughs and even laughed at some of the cute little writings my hubby had written on the box many, many years ago. Charlie has lost his shoes and his monacle along the years but it's good to see he is still being enjoyed.                            Friends, I want to warn you about going to certain sites on the world wide web. I was looking for a cute Christmas counter for my blog and happened to click on a website that I thought was virus free. Sure enough my desktop was hijacked by a virus, we do have anti-virus software installed but I got no warning! I couldn't do anything, luckily my gorgeous, sexy dear hubby is a computer geek so he set things right again!!! So no cute Christmas counter for me... ALSO..I want to mention that I have passed my 100th post so I too would like to do a giveaway...I will be posting later what the giveaway will be (actually I need to find something..hehehe) so please stay tuned.      Be careful out there while doing your Black Friday Shopping....gotta tell you that my hubby came home with 6 beautiful poinsettas plants this morning, one is for me of course and the others to give as gifts. Is that sweet or what!!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS......

The bread is rising, the turkey and ham are in the oven so now we patiently wait with tummies growling. Waiting for the feast to begin, each one of us thankful for one another, we sit and watch the Macy's parade, check the oven to make sure everything looks great, the aromas of food cooking...mmmmm soon, soon we will eat.
I had some  little time to surf the blogs, came across this beautiful blog called Fräulein Klein. Yvonne blog is also in english so you can read about her giveaway...hurry there is a deadline.

Happy Eating...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING...

Remember "That Girl" with Marlo Thomas? I thought this picture was very appropriate for tomorrows holiday. You can check out video clips on "That Girl" on IMDb  I used to love her show and when I saw those video clips it brought back lots of smiles.

This is one of our favorite Thanksgiving movies, it makes us laugh and cry. Please, if you have time this weekend you should really watch this movie. It's hilarious! I leave you with a quote from their movie.

[waking up after sharing the same bed at the motel]

Neal: Del... Why did you kiss my ear?
Del: Why are you holding my hand?
Neal: [frowns] Where's your other hand?
                              Del: Between two pillows...
                              Neal: Those aren't pillows!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING MY FRIENDS....

Pumpkin Bread

If blogs had a scent button I would definetely use it right now. My kitchen smells good enough to eat. I made my traditional pumpkin bread this morning and it turned out Yummylicious!!! Remember a while back when I bought the warty looking pumpkin called Brode Galeux d'Eysines?  Well, I decided to use that pumpkin for my pumpkin bread.  As I was cutting it open it gave the aroma of sweet peanuts...trust me it smelled wonderful!! I found that this pumpkin was easier to cut the skin off then I placed the pumpkin meat in boiling water, it didnt take that long to soften. I then placed the cooked pumpkin in a large bowl and let it drain. I do this several times because it does retain lots of water ( I need to find a receipe that calls for pumpkin water). After the bread came out of the oven hubby commented how golden the bread looked compared to last years bread. Folks....this pumpkin is DELICIOUS, the bread has a nice sweet flavor. I usually freeze a couple of loafs for the colder months but I dont know if its going to last that long with my boys in the house. lol

Pumpkin Bread Recipe
3 eggs
1/2 cup crisco
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup pumpkin (I use fresh pumpkin)
1 tsp. pure vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup cold water
1 cup nuts (optional)

Cream sugar and crisco. Add eggs and dry sifted ingredients. Add pumpkin and water alternately. Add vanilla and nuts. Beat 2 minutes at high speed (or longer). Bake 2 small loaf pans(or larger loafs) for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.

For anyone that would love some pumpkin seeds to grow I have plenty to share just leave me a comment that you are interested.

Mt. Dora Flea Market Extravaganza....Part 2

As I strolled thru the vendors booths, charm bracelets caught my eye so I beelined to Sophie's Yard Art Booth. Mariann had a bit of everything but what really caught my eye was her double bubble jewelry. It was so pretty and very original. She was also in the process of creating another necklace while I was there...I sure hope I get to see the final results. I had a nice chat with Mariann, she mentioned that she is from Wisconsin and travels throughout the country selling her pretties. Mariann if you get a chance to read this please forgive me for posting your picture with your eyes closed, that was the only shot I took of you....lol .... I couldn't pass up taking a picture of the Mexican family painting..I found it very touching and beautiful (I guess it's the Mexican in me).  There was LOTS to see at the flea market and I am sad to say that we didn't finish all of it, we still had the hill to go to but I promise that next year that's where we will start.  Enjoy....

Mt. Dora Rennigers Flea Market Extravaganza

It was a beautiful day in Mt. Dora and the
Flea Market Extravaganza was HUGE! My friend Dina and I already knew what we were going to buy so we headed straight to those vendors tables. She found her barkcloth curtain panel and I finally bought my cement bunny bench. Yes...I know the bench is not an antique but I have been wanting one for 5 years now. I had to leave mine behind when we moved so when I came across the bunny bench last year I was so bummed that it had been sold! I came home with some vintage lace, a couple of glass door knobs and my bench.

I have include LOTS of pictures of all the goodies we saw and will post more tomorrow.

Oh...don't forget to click on the picture if you want a closer look.

Enjoy and always remember...I love comments...
